Junior Bot Operations & Infrastructure Technician

About the Role

Humming Agent is hiring a practical, trainable Bot Operations & Infrastructure Technician to help operate, deploy, support, and document our growing fleet of AI assistant and bot systems. This is not intended to be a senior engineering role. You do not need to already know every tool we use. We are more interested in reliability, curiosity, careful execution, and willingness to learn than in years of senior engineering experience. Local/hybrid candidates are preferred because occasional server-room, data center, or office infrastructure work may be required. In this role, you will use guided procedures, internal bots, and team support to onboard new bots, configure approved integrations, verify backups, document systems, troubleshoot common issues, and assist with hands-on infrastructure tasks when needed.

What You'll Do

  • Onboard new customer bots from initial setup through production readiness
  • Configure approved integrations (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, ticketing/helpdesk, CRM, calendars, storage, APIs)
  • Apply secure access patterns: least privilege, scoped credentials, documented ownership, and approval before permission expansion
  • Support Linux-based environments, containers, and virtualized infrastructure (including Proxmox/LXC/VM workflows)
  • Help maintain infrastructure documentation, runbooks, inventory, and recovery notes
  • Maintain and verify backups, test restore paths, and document recovery procedures
  • Monitor bot/service health, failed jobs, storage/network signals, and alert quality
  • Help write, run, and maintain simple operational scripts for provisioning, health checks, reporting, and cleanup
  • Triage operational incidents across bot config, API permissions, messaging channels, services, and network workflows

What We're Looking For

  • Dependable, organized, and able to follow detailed checklists
  • Comfortable with computers, admin portals, technical docs, and credential workflows
  • Basic familiarity with Linux, servers, networking, or command-line tools (expert-level not required)
  • Willingness to learn Proxmox, Linux containers, SSH, backup/monitoring workflows, and bot support operations
  • Strong attention to detail around customer access, credentials, and setup accuracy
  • Clear written communication and documentation habits
  • Calm troubleshooting mindset with good escalation judgment

Nice to Have

  • Data center/server-room or rack/cable/labeling experience
  • Experience with webhook-based integrations and messaging platforms (Slack/Teams/Telegram/SMS)
  • Experience with AI assistants, agent platforms, or bot operations
  • Exposure to secrets-management workflows (Bitwarden, 1Password, or similar)
  • Experience with monitoring/alerting and backup tooling
  • Customer onboarding or technical support experience

Compensation

$25–$45/hour depending on experience and scope
